What are the types of projects usually undertaken to date?
- Aside from Residential and Commercial Projects, we have also expanded into Hospitality Projects such as Hotel Renovations.
How has WBH Construction grown or expanded in the last 13 years?
- WBH Construction initially started with Residential projects.
Since then, the company has diversified into Commercial projects like Retail F & B outlets and Offices. Towards the last quarter of 2012, the company together with Ron Sim started ‘Hotel Renovations Limited’ targeting principally Hospitality projects such as Hotel Renovations and Upgrading (Exterior and Interior)

When called for a project evaluation, who attends?
- The principal of the firm together with a project manager will always attend to a project evaluation.
When bidding for a project, is there an administrative fee involved?
- We do not charge an administration fee when we submit our bidding proposal for large projects. We provide a quotation at no cost.
During construction and/or renovations, who is in charge of the project?
- We have a ‘hands-on’ policy. Every member of the team works professionally under the direction and supervision of the designated Project manager.
What are the consultative procedures practised between the client and the contractor when the project is on-going?
- The Site Manager will have daily meetings with the ‘on-site work team’ and weekly site meetings with the client. This is to continuously keep the client updated on the progress of the project. The relationship developed with the client will allow a joint effort in understanding and resolving site issues if they arise.
What type of documentation is practiced by the contractor?
- The Project Manager prepares a work schedule for circulation. Every site meeting with the client is recorded and minutes are distributed. Written directions will be endorsed and approved by the client to allow the work to progress. Site conditions BEFORE – DURING – AFTER will be documented by way of photographs and is available to the client upon request.
What types of pre-cautions are taken on your job site?
- We keep our job site clean and the mess contained because we care about the safety of our clients and our crew members. We take time to prepare and clean before and after work while also taking precautions not to damage the existing condition of the job site. (i.e. floor covering, wall covering)
Will there be overtime charges?
- Although we do not charge an overtime fee, we do charge a fee whenever there is a change in the policy or contract. This fee is added because everything cannot be predicted once renovations begin. Furthermore, sometimes our clients might also have a change in mind. Therefore, in either case, if there are changes that involve additional material and labor we specify the change and the cost to the client and won’t proceed until the work is clarified and agreed upon with the client.
What type of warranty is guaranteed by your company?
- We are covered by WCB. All construction is covered by 5 million liability insurance and new home construction is also covered by 2-5-10 year home warranty.
What type of payment structure can we expect?
- Because the type of payment structure will always differ depending on the size of the project, payment structure is discussed with our clients at the point of agreement. (i.e. 10% down payment at the point of contract, 20% of initial payment 30% in the middle, 30% at the end and 10% hold back)
